Benin - Djougou-N'dali Road Improvement Project

The Djougou-N'dali Road Improvement Project concerns the reinforcement and asphalting of the road and the maintenance of existing tracks on existing rights-of-way. The Djougou-N'dali road forms part of the inter-state national roads that link Togo, Benin and Nigeria, (Kara-Ouake-Djougou-Ndali-Nikki-Chicandou-Nigeria border). The project consists of: (i) the improvement of 125 km of the present right of way of the modern earth road linking Djougou to N’dali; (ii) rehabilitation and maintenance of 250 km of feeder roads, (iii) construction of boreholes for the supply of potable water and the transfer of buildings on the work site settlements to the inhabitants and decentralized communities and; (iv) the building of the capacities of the project executing agency. The implementation of the project should contribute to opening up a large number of villages located in the north-eastern and north-western part of Benin and improve the direct link between this part of the country and the 2nd city of Togo (Kara) and Nigeria.
