Benin - Pobe-Ketou-Illara Road Study

The present project concerns the study of Pobé-Kétou-Illara road (63 km). It should help to determine the possibilities of rehabilitation of the Pobé-Kétou section and of the Kétou-Illara section, the realization of which should ensure not only the opening up of the areas crossed, but also the promotion of regional economic integration. The proposed study should make available: (i) socio-economic studies of Pobé-Kétou section and the updating of the technical and economic feasibility studies of various types of developments in Kétou-Illara section; (ii) environmental impact studies and; (iii) construction and tender documents for construction works. It consists of two (2) distinct phases. Phase I should be used to develop options for the rehabilitation of Pobé-Kétou section, to update Kétou-Illara section technical study, to carry out socio-economic and environmental studies covering cross-cutting issues (gender , poverty, etc.) and to organize meetings with the people of the zone of influence of the road to take into account their concerns.
