Description | The one-year renewed contract entails the municipal collection service in Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo, in the city of Cancún, Mexico. The contract was won by Veolia, through its Mexican subsidiary, Proactiva (SETASA) in December 2014. Under the contract 230 people were employed and the volume of waste disposed is 542 tons per day or 197,830 tons per year. The project serves a total of 550,000 people. The value of the contract is MXN72 million, the equivalent of $4.95 million. Benito Juárez, located in the state of Quintana Roo, includes the city of Cancún, in the region of Yucatan peninsula.
