Benjamin Franklin Bridge Centennial Celebration

completed

The Benjamin Franklin Bridge, a landmark suspension bridge connecting Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Camden, New Jersey, celebrated its 100th birthday on July 11, 2026. The bridge, originally called the Delaware River Bridge, was the longest suspension bridge in the world when it opened in 1926. The celebration included a pedestrian event where tens of thousands walked across the bridge, speeches by officials, and the unveiling of a restored wing statue, one of the original artworks accompanying the bridge.
