The project is part of a Global Project which aims to meet the targets of “ACI Europe 2050 Net Zero strategy” namely by reaching zero carbon emissions for ground operations and supporting the decarbonisation of air transport and the transition between fossil fuels and renewable energy. The Bergamo-Orio al Serio Airport is in the Mediterranean Corridor, linking the ports in the south-western Mediterranean region to the centre of the EU. The objective of the project BASE « Bergamo Air Side Electrification“ is to contribute to further electrification of the airport grounds operations. It will be carried out through a series of activities to install sixty-four charging points for electrical Ground Support Equipment (GSE), two fixed 400 Hz ground power unit (GPU) systems equipped, a fixed aircraft power supply system (15 PIT) to connect the new aircraft stands, thirty-two 32 mobile GPUs (eGPU) to connect remote aircraft stands and the purchase of one GSE vehicle charging system manufactured including 8 charging points.
