Description

Description

Over the next two years, BFM will continue its mission to promote and disseminate film culture. With the artistic quality of the programme as a fundamental pillar, the primary objective of BFM44 – BFM45 will be to consolidate and expand a cohesive and dynamic community of filmgoers. The festival will focus on ensuring accessibility, engagement, and education for a diverse audience, differentiated by interests, age, geographical origin, abilities, education, and socio-economic background. As always, the programme will highlight both contemporary productions and cinematic heritage, ensuring geographical and cultural diversity with a strong emphasis on non-national works. The latest trends in fiction, documentary, and animation will be explored alongside the rediscovery of masterpieces and the great auteurs of film history. In addition to screenings, the festival will host international guests, meetings with filmmakers, special events, and innovative audience engagement initiatives. A continuous commitment to audience development, supported by digital technologies, will allow BFM to reach new viewers. Film literacy initiatives—particularly those aimed at young people and schools—will play a key role in fostering cultural awareness through dedicated programmes, meetings, workshops, and seminars. BFM will remain committed to supporting film circulation beyond the festival dates, through year-round activities, decentralised screenings, and strengthened industry connections to promote both commercial and alternative distribution. Furthermore, it will reinforce and expand collaborations with other film and cultural institutions, sharing projects and expertise. By growing its network, BFM will not only enhance resource efficiency but also extend its impact and competitiveness, both locally and internationally.
