The atlas and derived products will contribute to visitor and local users understanding of the historic resources in Bering Land Bridge National Preserve and provide another opportunity to remind the public of the NPS mission and responsibilities as stewards of these resources. Products resulting from this project will be distributed to all area schools (in the Nome School District and the Bering Straits School District), NPS contact stations, and available to interested public. 1) 505 DM 2 Single Source - Only one responsible source will satisfy agency requirements. The NPS will provide specialist support in the areas of arctic archeology, ethnography, northwest Alaska history, mining history, historic architecture and cultural landscapes. The NPS recognizes that there may be limited opportunities for students of Alaska history to be exposed to and learn from the wide array of disciplines that this project can offer. Full competition has potential for the PI selection to not be a student a student of Alaska history, therefore eliminating a unique opportunity for enhancing knowledge and skills.
