Information New Mangalore Port Authority has come up with Berth No.17 Development Project with a ticket size of 213.91 INR Crores. This project in Ports sub-sector involves The current status of the project is being developed through the EPC route. The Techno-Econonic Feasibility Report was prepared by M/s. IPA, New Delhi. The Detailed Project Report is received from M/s. NTCPWC and the same is approved by the Board of NMPA. EIA study and the EC to the project is currently under progress. Compliance of TOR of MOEF & CC are under progress. The public hearing was held on 07.07.2023 at the Office of the Dy. Commissioner, D.K. Mangalore and proceedings from KSPCB is awaited Project Management Consultant was appointed on 03.02.2023. Standing Finance Committee Note has been approved by the Port Authority Board vide Reso no. 68/2023-24 dated 26.07.2023 and will be sent to the Ministry after approval of Tender Document, which is in process. Economic/Social Impact of the Project New Mangalore Port Authority intends to develop an additional deep draft general cargo berth Berth No. 17 adjacent to existing berth No.8. The berth is proposed to handle RO-RO/ Cruise ships bunkering cargo ships Iron ore fines/concentrate, fertilizers, river sand, bentonite, gypsum, machinery, steel coil etc. at the proposed new berth No. 17. The proposed handling capacity of the multipurpose berth No 17 would be 9 MMTPA.
