Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Project

Berwick Bank is a landmark offshore wind project in the North Sea off Scotland's east coast, targeting a total delivery of 4.1GW of offshore wind capacity across three phases. It could become the world's largest offshore wind farm, generating enough clean electricity to power more than six million UK homes annually. The project is nationally significant, potentially adding up to A38.3bn to the UK economy and supporting over 9,000 jobs. Fugro has been awarded a geotechnical survey contract for Berwick Bank B, the second phase of the project, representing 1.4GW of the overall capacity. Fugro will conduct a full geotechnical investigation to enable the design of fixed-bottom turbines, drilling boreholes up to 50 m below the seabed to collect soil and rock samples for foundation design.
