Description

Description

The BUILD project is dedicated to advancing digital transformation across EU Member States by establishing a robust multi-country digital infrastructure centred on Local Digital Twins (LDT) and the CitiVERSE EDIC framework. This project will implement sustainable, scalable solutions that facilitate interoperability, enhance connectivity, and strengthen Europe’s digital capacity. Through a structured approach, the project will develop an EDIC Service Catalogue, identifying key partners and customers to leverage EU-developed solutions, fostering collaboration and reducing digital fragmentation. The project’s technical roadmap will deliver open-source EU technologies, focusing on regulatory and economic feasibility to ensure sustainable infrastructure for LDT across cities. A clear operational model will define rights, services, and benefits, enabling cross-border collaboration and resource-sharing within a federated network of digital twins. In addition to developing a shared infrastructure that incorporates AI and cloud-based services to support Smart Communities, the project aims to empower cities by providing training and tools that enhance their capacity to deploy and manage LDTs effectively. Through targeted dissemination strategies, including a strong visual identity and key partnerships, the project will maximize impact, drive knowledge sharing, and support the EU’s digital priorities, bridging the gap between piloting and full deployment to build a secure, interconnected digital market for Europe. By aligning with the objectives of the Digital Decade Policy Programme and leveraging cutting-edge technologies like AI, IoT, and high-performance computing, the project aims to deliver lasting impacts that benefit citizens, cities, public administrations and the private sector. BUILD holistic approach focuses on fostering interoperability, reducing digital divides and promoting a sustainable digital economy.
