Description

Description

This funding will support reinvestment into minimum guarantees (MG) and prints and advertising (P&A) costs. It will enable the acquisition of high-potential, non-national European feature films that combine strong storytelling, commercial appeal, and artistic value. Part of the funds will also be used to cover eligible P&A expenses, allowing for enhanced press and marketing efforts to boost project visibility and, more general, to promote theatrical and online distribution of European audiovisual works within the Union and internationally. Beta Cinema acquires approximately 15 feature films annually, including German, European, and international titles, and recently English-speaking films with name cast mainly from the UK and Ireland. We focus on accessible narratives with strong crossover appeal for wide European and global audiences. While we work with established partners and talent, we are also open to emerging voices and unconventional stories. Our acquisition strategy prioritizes alignment with European industry goals, such as climate-neutral production, digital innovation, diversity, gender balance, and a rules-based global order. The funds will be reinvested into MGs for new titles and may also support the acquisition of worldwide rights for larger-scale, high-budget productions. Additionally, they will help finance promotional materials including trailers, posters, promo reels, and social media campaigns, tailored to each project’s content, cast, crew, and international potential.
