Beijing Enterprises Water Group (“BEWG” or the “Company”) develops, designs, builds, owns and operates water infrastructure, with a focus on municipal waste water treatment, water supply and river restoration. BEWG is the largest Chinese water company, with 326 plants and a total installed [water and wastewater] treatment capacity exceeding 20 million ton per day (“tpd”) as of December 31, 2014.The Project is to support BEWG for the development of 8 wastewater treatment projects and 4 water treatment projects in China by providing long-term debt financing (A loan + B loan + MCPP loan), which will help increase treatment standards in 12 municipalities across 9 provinces, 7 out of which are frontier regions as follows: Wastewater Treatment Projects (WWTP): Daqing Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) - Daqing, Heilongjiang; Anshan BOT - Anshan, Liaoning; Fuxin BOT - Fuxin, Liaoning; Haiyang BOT - Yantai, Shandong; Jinxia Upgrade BOT- Changsha, Hunan; Ningjin Phase III BOT - Dezhou, Shandong; Lanshan Phase II BOT - Rizhao, Shandong; Yanliang Phase II BOT - Xi'an, Shaanxi.Water Supply Projects (WSP): Kaili BOT - Kaili, Guizhou; Yining BOT - Yining, Xinjiang; Jiyuan BOT - Jiaozuo, Henan; Nangong BOT - Xingtai, Hebei.The total project cost is estimated at about US$318 million, of which up to US$208 million will be financed by long term loans including up to US$51 million for IFC’s own account. Up to US$39 million will be from IFC acting in its capacity as implementing entity for the Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program. Up to US$145 million equivalent would be financed by commercial banks and other Developmental Financial Institution(s).
