Description
Description | "This project aims at investigating the level of knowledge of the European managerial workforce of the concept of unconscious bias and its impact on managerial practices, and developing a training programme to provide managers with the right tools to detect such attitude in their behaviours, raising awareness on what measures and tools can be adopted on the workplace to develop an inclusive approach to management and leadership. Equipped with the right skills and techniques, managers will be crucial to contribute to supporting gender equality and fighting discrimination on the workplace (and consequently within society), improving working conditions for all by creating more open and welcoming working environments while ensuring quality opportunities for all workers to express their full professional and human potential. In doing so, this project is also relevant to the consolidation of that model of sustainable leadership that CEC wants to promote. Additionally, the project also wishes to enrich social partners’ approach to contrasting discrimination on the workplace, raising awareness about the impact of non-legislative factors. The project includes the following actions: - a survey of European managers on their approach, knowledge and perception of unconscious bias (including an overview of the existing scientific literature on the issue), - three training seminars for approximately 20 selected European managers to illustrate practical examples of tools and techniques to identify and counter bias in their professional practice, including a selection of best practices and a focus on three different ""applications"" of unconscious bias (gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity) - a series of communication and dissemination activities, including a final hybrid conference to present the results of the project and share the experiences of trainees." |
