Bhiwandi Wada BOT Project consisted of Improvement, Strengthening and Black Topping of Bhiwandi Wada Road (S.H. 35) Km 0/645 to 18/000 in Taluka Bhiwandi with Private financing and toll rights on Build, Operate and Transfer (B.O.T.) basis. The total length was 18 km. The project was awarded by Public Works Department on behalf of Government of Maharashtra to IRB Infrastructure under a 10 year and eight moth concession contract including 12 months of construction period. The concession contract was signed in January 1998 and the starting period (construction) was also January 1998. The construction phase was completed in February 1999. The concession period ends in September 2008. The project cost was estimated to be INR 94.5 Millions (US$2.3 million). The project reached financial closure in January 1998 with a loan from IDBI Bank Ltd and Dombivli Nagari Sahakari Bank Ltd.
