Description | The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail project was initiated to develop a metro rail system in Bhubaneswar to enhance urban mobility and development. The project aimed to connect Biju Patnaik International Airport with Trisulia Square and was planned to be completed in Phase 1 by 2027. The project was initially planned as a fully state-funded Rs 5,000-crore project but was later scrapped by the Odisha government, which intends to prepare a new Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a feasible metro project with central assistance. |
