Bhutan's Largest Solar Power Project by Reliance Power

Reliance Power has signed a commercial term sheet for a long-term power purchase agreement with Green Digital Private Limited (GDL), a company owned by the Government of Bhutan, to develop Bhutan's largest solar power project. The project involves a capital outlay of up to Rs 2000 crores under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model, representing the largest private sector foreign direct investment in Bhutan's solar energy sector to date. The project will be implemented in phased tranches over the next 24 months and aims to diversify Bhutan's renewable energy portfolio beyond hydropower, enhancing grid stability and regional clean energy integration across South Asia.
