Description

Description

This project consists of the construction of a new building for Biathlon Yukon that will replace the existing buildings which no longer meet the organization’s needs in the City of Whitehorse, Yukon. The new building and facilities will be operated by the Biathlon Yukon not-for-profit, will be community-oriented, non-commercial in nature, and open for use to the public. The 3 existing buildings no longer meet the organization’s functional needs, are inadequate to serve their purpose and are costly to keep up to the latest code & bylaw regulations. These buildings will either be moved and transformed into storage or demolished ahead of the new building construction. The New Building Area will be 340 square meters / up to 2 storeys (almost 5 times the area Biathlon Yukon had when they could operate their 3 existing buildings) include offices, meetings rooms, kitchen, changing rooms, and storage and be universally accessible. This project is expected to result in the improvement of recreational infrastructure.
