Bicol passenger railway line PPP project

The project includes development of a 565 km-long rail line stretch of Philippines national railway (PNR) connecting Metro Manila to Bicol. The first phase of the project aims to link Metro Manila to the southern Luzon provinces of Sorsogon and Batangas covering four provinces and 39 cities. The scope of works involves the construction of 23 stations, 230 bridges, 10 passenger tunnels, and a 70ha depot at San Pablo in Laguna Province.In the first phase, the concessionaire will provide design, construction, and electromechanical works of the first 380km stretch from Banlic to Daraga. The project will reduce travel time from Manila to Bicol from twelve hours to four hours.
