Description

Description

The feature length documentary BIG OIL vs THE LAW by Mette Reitzel is a collaborative project with transnational appeal. It is a proof of concept for the future of filmmaking and citizenship by modelling the behaviour that will soon be required of all of us – thinking globally while acting locally. Our collaborative production model involves a global team of established filmmakers, each co-directing the story most local to them. The German production company inselfilm production (COO) is co-developing the documentary together with the Dutch production company Rinkel Film (BEN). With the support of the European Co-Development fund we will deepen our research in order to find protagonists, experts and creatives and develop the five stories taking place in four different continents. Local teams will be shooting research footage in order to edit a trailer that includes all protagonists and storylines. The trailer will help to develop partnerships with other financing partners such as funds, co-producers and broadcasters. During the development period we are planning to create an estimated production budget, an estimated financing plan and a detailed marketing, distribution and impact strategy. We will produce five outputs such as a treatment, a trailer, an impact- and distribution strategy, estimated production budget and estimated financing plan. Persons benefiting from the project are: Rinkel Film (BEN) – Number: 15 persons – Type: Project Manager, Producer, Production Manager, Project Coordinator, Production Assistant, Co-Director (2), Director of Photography (2), Sound Recordist (2), Composer, Assistant Editor, Post-production team (2) and inselfilm produktion (COO) – Number: 23 persons – Type: Producer, Financial Manager, Production Manager, Production Coordinator, Impact team (4), Director, Co-Directors (2), Directors of Photography (3), Sound Recordists (2), Editor, Advising Director of Photography, Graphic Designer.
