Description | Biidaasige Park is Toronto's largest new park in a generation, located in the Port Lands at the mouth of the Don River. It is part of a major flood protection and revitalization effort involving the re-routing and naturalization of the Don River, creating a new island called Ookwemin Minising. The park spans 50 acres with plans to expand by another 10 acres in 2026, featuring playgrounds, ziplines, waterplay areas, picnic grounds, dog off-leash zones, kayak launch areas, fishing platforms, trails, wetlands, and native vegetation. It is the first completed public amenity on the reimagined terrain and supports a broader vision of a sustainable island community with mixed-use developments and housing. |
