Bijapur-Hungund Tollway Pvt Ltd was created to expand to four lanes the Bijapur - Hungund Section of NH-13 from km 102.000 to km 202.000 in the state of Karnataka. National Highway Authority of India awarded the concession to Bijapur-Hungund Tollway Pvt Ltd in Feb 2010 under a 20-year DBFOT Toll basis concession under NHDP Phase-III. Bijapur-Hungund Tollway Pvt Ltd was owned by the consortium of Sadbhav Engineering Ltd, Sadbhav Infrastructure Projects Ltd and Montecario Construction Ltd. The 20 year Concession Period of the project included construction period of 910 (Nine Hundred and Ten) days from the 'Appointed Date'." The estimated cost of the project was Rs11.2bn (US$$244.9m). The project reached financial closure in June 2010. Financing comprised of Rs8.5bn debt and Rs2.7bn equity. Bankof India was the mandated arrange. Project construction started in September 2010 and operation phase was expected to commence on 3 Mar 2013.
