Information Northern Coalfields Limited [NCL] has come up with Bina Kakri Amalgamation Expansion Opencast Mining Project [14 MTPA] with a ticket size of 836.42 INR Crores. This project in Coal sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project CIL Board in its 409th meeting held on 25.08.2020 approved PR of brown field Bina-Kakri Amalgamation OCP of 14 Mtpa with sanctioned additional capital of Rs 836.42 Crs with Option-II i.e. coal departmental & partial OB Outsourcing. It has a minable reserve of 207.30 MT of coal having life period of 18 years. Coal Production in FY21, FY22 & FY23 are 8.41 MT, 9.00 Mt 10.5 MT respectively. Coal Production target in FY24 is 10.5 MT Bina-Kakri Amalgamation [14 Mtpa] OCP has been envisaged with inclusion of existing Bina Extension OCP [6 Mtpa], a part of dip side property of Bina Extension OCP, part of dip side area of existing Kakri OCP and part of south side area of Bina Extension OCP to augment the coal reserve for a rated target coal production of 14 Mtpa. It is located in the north-eastern part of Moher sub-basin of Singrauli Coalfield. The interstate boundary between Madhya Pradesh [Singrauli district] and Uttar Pradesh [Sonebhadra district] passes through the proposed leasehold area. The project has been approved on 25.08.2020. The project is scheduled for commissioning in March 2024 & anticipated date of completion is March 2025. The additional sanctioned capital for the project of 8.00 Mtpa incremental capacity [6.0 to 14.0 Mtpa] is Rs 836.42 Crs for Option-II [Coal Departmental & partial OB Outsourcing]. The proposed Bina-Kakri Amalgamation will continue to have linkage with Anpara TPS and Obra TPS of UPRVUNL. It will also serve as Basket Linkage mine to meet the overall demand of coal of NCL. A full-fledged 9.5 Mtpa CHP with Rapid Loading System from Silo has been envisaged in PR.
