Translated version of this PSD: Bosnian The EBRD is considering a loan of up to EUR 17 million to the retail company Bingo d.o.o. to support the expansion of the company’s retail network in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and to construct cooling chambers to build up a local fruit and vegetable supply chain. The Project’s transition impact is derived from the expansion of backward linkages with local farmers and cooperatives in the context of the creation of a local fruit and vegetable supply chain. In addition, the Project sets standards for corporate governance and business conduct through the use of state-of-the-art energy efficiency technology. Finally, the Project strengthens competition in the hypermarket segments of Sarajevo and Banja Luka. Bingo d.o.o. is a retailer in Bosnia and Herzegovina (“BiH”) owned by Mr. Senad Dzambic, a local entrepreneur. Senior long-term loan of up to EUR 17 million. EUR 35 million. Categorised B. Bingo is an existing client of the Bank and has been the subject of environmental and social due diligence in the context of previous projects. The operation of retail outlets in general is not associated with significant environmental impacts. During the construction phase of retail outlets however there are some labour and potential local nuisance issues that need to be considered. Bingo has a process in place to ensure that sites are fit-for-purpose and that planning issues are managed in compliance with national requirements. Bingo communicates with local communities both prior to construction of retail units and as part of on-going dialogue during both construction and operation. Bingo is in the process of establishing a formal system for the management of environmental health and safety issues which will ensure that the Company complies with national requirements and best industry practice. Bingo has a process for engaging with suppliers to ensure that products meet the required quality standards. Bingo also ensures that all HR issues are dealt with in accordance with national requirements including a comprehensive process for engagement with employees for both the continued improvement of working conditions and the receipt of grievances where relevant.
