The project focuses on the benefits of nature, offered in an affordable, sustainable and wellness-related way. Through a strategy focusing on the Franco-Belgian mining basin where natural spaces are threatened by increasing urbanisation. The project is intended to be participatory, bringing together nature and citizens. BIOOS wants to build social and solidarity links on these nature sites, contributing to the reduction of isolation, through support systems. The "benefits of biodiversity" approach is used to activate and stimulate the concepts of harmonious living and attachment to one's territory and neighbourhood by inviting inhabitants, even in disadvantaged areas, to see nature as a vector of physical, mental and psychological well-being. The measures put in place (diagnosis, awareness-raising, enhancement, etc.) will invite the target audience to move beyond their simple consumerist relationship with nature and present biodiversity as a precious ally in their daily lives.
