BioEthics Standards in Translational research

In recent decades, revolutionary advances have been made in biomedical research (e.g. in genomics, stem cells and nanotechnology). In order to integrate and translate these new discoveries into novel and effective therapies, the Danube BEST-NetWORK offered an independent body in the Danube Region to advise policymakers while stimulating debates on bioethics and translational research. With support of START, a core curriculum which addressed the most important issues related to the BioEthic standards and their relevance for Translational Research within the EU and Danube Region countries was established. Seminars to improve the career development of clinical researchers were organised and the international competitiveness of the involved partners was enhanced by organising and participating in international scientific events.
