Ecuador is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world and due to the diversity of its indigenous nations, it also presents a rich field of experimentation for the development of economic and social models aimed at meeting the needs of the population in a sustainable, inclusive, competitive and resilient manner, while preserving and protecting its natural environment.The present project, implemented by AFD, strengthens the bioeconomy market through access to finance for bioentrepreneurs, and the marketing of bioeconomy value chains, promoting national and international trade of products with high environmental, climate and social quality. In particular, the project aims at valorizing bioeconomy Ecuadorian products by:consolidating bioeconomy value chains and improving access to financing for producers in collaboration with cooperative networks, with a focus on the financing of female producers or entrepreneursimproving post-production processes (processing, marketing, and logistics) and ensuring the commercialization of bioeconomy products by meeting market requirements and export standards compliance (traceability, quality and certification)creating new alliances between import countries, especially those from the European Union, and Ecuador, accompanying the smooth implementation of the EU-Ecuador trade agreement by helping Ecuadorian companies to better comply with EU standards, especially on environment and deforestation.
