The project involves paying landowners to leave water in the watershed to increase stream flow and improve fish habitats, particularly for Mid-Columbia steelhead trout. The initiative supports broader habitat restoration efforts and aims to replenish about 325 million gallons of water annually to the Birch Creek watershed. |
