Birmingham Children’s Hospital MediCinema Conversion

Birmingham Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, England, converted an underutilized staff lecture hall into a multipurpose cinema. The project was designed and built by MediCinema, a London-based nonprofit, in partnership with The Walt Disney Company EMEA. The cinema features 84 brightly colored theater-style seats, sky blue acoustic wall panels with decorative elements, and LED lights to mimic stars. It serves as a dual-purpose space for staff education and training during the day and movie screenings for patients and families in the evenings.
