Description | Development of Bishoftu International Airport (BIA), a greenfield project designed to serve as a continental aviation hub for Ethiopia and Africa. The project aims to ease capacity constraints at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and position Ethiopia as a key player in regional and global aviation. Phase one, valued at approximately USD 12.5 billion, will accommodate up to 60 million passengers annually by 2030. The fully developed airport will handle 110 million passengers annually, becoming the largest airport in Africa. |
