Black Hollow Sun Solar Power Complex

The Black Hollow Sun (BHS) complex is a solar power project in Severance, Colorado, consisting of two phases: BHS I and BHS II. BHS I has started operations with 185 MWp capacity, supplying Platte River Power Authority. BHS II, with 139 MWp capacity, is under construction and expected to be operational in 2026. When fully completed, the complex will have a total capacity of 324 MWp, making it Northern Colorado's largest solar project and Platte River's largest contracted solar asset. The complex will produce around 608 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to power over 73,000 homes and avoid nearly 450,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year. The project uses American-manufactured solar modules supplied by Qcells, which also provides integrated EPC solutions.
