Description | Black Kite-1 is an 8U IoT CubeSat developed by Rapidtek Technologies Inc. in collaboration with the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). It is part of Taiwan's Startup CubeSat Program and aims to advance LEO satellite constellation deployment for IoT communications. The satellite was successfully launched into orbit aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter-15 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The mission verifies communication payloads, system stability, and GPS receiver performance, supporting Taiwan's autonomous development in global LEO communications. |
