Description | Black Kite-1 is an 8U IoT CubeSat developed by Rapidtek Technologies Inc. in collaboration with the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). It was successfully launched into orbit aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter-15 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The satellite is deployed in a Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 to 600 kilometers and aims to verify end-to-end communication performance and test various communication payloads and technologies as part of Taiwan's LEO satellite constellation deployment plan. |
