Blackwater Falls State Park Dark Sky-Compliant Lighting Retrofit

planned

The project involves replacing all exterior lighting fixtures at the Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge that are not currently dark sky-compliant. This retrofit aims to achieve International Dark Sky certification by installing lighting that minimizes light pollution, with shields to direct light downward, warmer color temperature, and reduced brightness. The project is part of a broader effort to replace non-compliant lighting fixtures throughout the park to meet certification requirements.
