Description
Description | 15.225 Recreation Resource Management. BLM-California Public Lands youth corps teams will work on projects located on public lands in California. These projects may include but not limited: off-highway vehicle recreation areas; areas of critical environmental concern (ACEC); habitat management areas; desert wildlife management areas; special or extensive recreation management areas; and developed recreation sites. These teams will focus on projects to reclaim and restore arid lands or other sensitive ecosystems damaged by off-highway vehicle use, other recreational activities, mining operations, or other surface disturbance activities. They will work closely with BLM staff and help close and restore routes designated as closed in BLM resource management plans, travel management plans, or other planning documents. They will also work in special and extensive recreation areas and construct and maintain recreation facilities, campgrounds, picnic areas, visitor centers, waysides, kiosks, and trailheads. Other projects may include installation of route, directional, and interpretive signs, cultural site recordation and stabilization and rehabilitation of burned areas caused by wildland fires. |
