Description | A bloc-to-bloc aviation pact has been signed between the Governments of ASEAN and the European Union (EU), allowing for more passenger and cargo flights between the countries. The pact includes 10 ASEAN member states and the 27 EU members. Under the agreement, the 37 countries will be able to fly up to 14 passenger flights per week and unlimited number of cargo flights with fifth freedom traffic rights from one bloc to the other, via any third nation. This agreement is expected to benefit more than one billion potential passengers. |
