Information Northern Coalfields Limited [NCL] has come up with Block B Expansion [3.5 to 8.0 MTPA] Opencast Coal Mining Project with a ticket size of 998.71 INR Crores. This project in Coal sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project CIL Board in its 387th meeting held on 22.07.2019 approved Recast EPR of Brown Field Block-B Expansion OCP for an incremental capacity of 4.5 Mtpa [from 3.5 to 8.0 Mtpa] with sanctioned incremental capital of Rs 998.71 Crs with Option-II i.e. coal departmental & OB Outsourcing. It has a minable reserve of 138.07 MT of coal having life period of 19 years. Coal production is 5.47 MT in FY20, FY21, FY22 & FY23 as per available EC. Coal production target in FY24 is 7.5 MT. Block-B Expansion OCP [3.5 to 8.0 Mtpa] is located in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh and lies in the north-west corner of Moher Sub-basin of Singrauli Coalfield within the command area of Northern Coalfields Limited [NCL]. Block-B Extension OCP envisages encompassing the existing Block-B OCP [3.5 Mtpa] with a part of dip side Block-B Extension Geological Block. The project was approved on 22.07.2019. The project is scheduled for commissioning in March 2023 and anticipated date of completion is March 2025.The initial capital investment for expansion project for 4.5 Mtpa incremental capacity [3.5 to 8.0 Mtpa] has been estimated as Rs 998.71 Crs for Option-II [Coal Departmental and Over Burden Removal [OBR] Outsourcing]. The project has linkage with Kota & Suratgarh TPS of RRVUNL and Obra TPS of UPRVUNL. It will also serve as a Basket Linkage to meet overall demand of coal on NCL including availability of coal for e-auction. A full-fledged CHP [4.0 Mtpa Incremental] with Rapid Loading System from Silo has been envisaged in PR.
