Description | The North Carolina Department of Transportation has awarded an $11 million contract to Sanford Contractors Inc. to replace a 35-year-old bridge over Blounts Creek in Beaufort County. The bridge, located on Mouth of the Creek Road, provides crucial access to neighborhoods east and west of Blounts Creek, connecting them to N.C. 33. Construction of the new bridge, which will be situated just south of the existing structure, is set to begin as early as December 1. During the construction period, drivers will continue to use the current bridge. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2028. |
