Description | The project involves the construction of the Blue 1 solar power plant, located in Topoje, Fier County, Albania. The project will have a capacity of 50MW and is expected to reduce approx. 1,900t CO2 emissions per year and generate more than 108,000 MWh of clean energy annually. Sponsors are Blessed Investment and Matrix Konstruksion, which own the special purpose vehicle - SPV Blue 1 sh.p.k. The total value of the project is $39.4 million and the Green for Growth Fund provided a $29.6 million loan, covering up to 75% of the associated costs. The project was also supported by GGF's Technical Assistance Facility, which provided support in augmenting the impact generated by the investment.
