Description
Description | Today the blue economy workforce is not well equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to promote green pathways and the capacity to employ efficiently recent technologies/techniques towards European Green Deal (EGD). Tailored training is needed to help ports to become green. THE BLUE-PORTS (BLUE CAREERS IN NET ZERO ENERGY PORTS) will support the development of skills of the ports’ human capital and cover the gap between current services and EGD targets, including Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy till 2030 and 2050. The proposal will offer a professional advantage to the personnel and port authorities with practical tips and smart tools on zero-emission port; integrated waste management; offshore green power generation; sustainability assessment; also to young graduates. Key market actors, representing the quadruple innovation helix will be involved: (i) marine and maritime education/academy; (ii) blue economy industry; (iii) civil society-environment; (iv) governance. Special courses will be developed and implemented, supported by young and environmental associations towards new student talents. Main outcomes: (i) An innovative education material; (ii) An innovative digital synchronous/asynchronous examination and certification system; (iii) A pool of 200+ skilled staff in participating countries; 300+ young talents; (iv) An existing already BLUE-PORTS network: 6 governmental, 9 civil/environmental society, educational and 8 port/economy organizations; (v) A new operational certification scheme tested in 4+ countries accredited against ISO/IEC 17024; (vi) A roadmap for the wide implementation of the certification scheme; (vi) A well-tested and validated training programme for young graduates. A Dissemination and Exploitation strategy will sustain the snowball effect of the training and certification scheme across the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. BLUE-PORTS will set the base for a mutual recognised certified training and certification scheme for ports and port related workforce, across Europe. |
