"Europe's coasts and seas have the potential to generate growth and employment in the future. To achieve this Blue Growth, highly qualified and skilled professionals are needed, and this is what BOUTCAR wants to generate. Specific objectives of the project are: ■Develop a training pathway for young people and adults who want to engage in blue economy by providing them with contents, skills and competences necessary to get attractive and sustainable jobs. ■Develop competences and skills needed to support EU Green Deal initiatives promoting sustainable blue economy. ■Develop opportunities for fishermen through professional qualification and skills development to operate in the different contexts of offshore wind areas ■ Create strong collaborative networks at EU level between professional organisations and educational institutions to offer attractive and sustainable jobs ■Raising awareness and attractiveness of ""blue careers"" among students and young professionals, to attract and retain new talents and counteract the depletion of human capital due to ageing workforce. Consortium. The BOUTCAR project involves 2 EU Universities, 2 Research Centres, 3 VET Centres, 2 Professional Associations/Cooperatives and Enterprises. IMPLEMENTATION AND RESULS. The BOUTCAR Project consists of 8WP, of which 3 are transversal - WP1. Project management; WP 7 Evaluation&quality control; WP 8. Dissemination&Exploitation - and 5 of implementation - WP2. Collection and analysis of training programs including blue careers in each country involved; WP3. Design upskilling/reskilling programmes linked to Blue Economy, involving the education sector and leading companies/business associations in the sectors; WP4. Development of innovative educational material with the realisation of 3 expert courses on Blue Economy for fisheries and aquaculture sector; WP5. Development of Digital Content&Materials Platform; WP6. Development of EU Collaboration Network for the transfer of knowledge."
