Description | Blue Origin plans to operate an industrial wastewater treatment facility that discharges 490,000 gallons per day of process and non-process industrial wastewater into an onsite stormwater pond, which then flows into the Indian River Lagoon. The project has drawn criticism from local environmental groups and residents concerned about the ecological impact on the Indian River Lagoon. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has prepared a draft permit for this discharge, and the Brevard County Commission has requested a public hearing before the permit is finalized. |
