Blue Ribbon Land Conservation Projects

planned

A legislative measure aimed at encouraging Florida's largest private landowners to set aside at least 60% of their land for conservation. The program targets landowners with at least 10,000 contiguous acres and establishes 'Blue Ribbon' projects to promote long-term stewardship of natural and built environments. The bill allows bypassing usual local government approval processes but requires compliance with applicable statutes. The goals include protecting wildlife, limiting urban sprawl, providing diverse housing options, promoting sustainable communities, and enhancing local economic development.
