The project is the upgrade and expansion of the Nova Scotia Blue Route (active transportation cycling infrastructure) and includes three sections: • Section 1: Trunk 1 from Windsor Town line to Lighthouse Rd - approximately 7.4km of shoulder and surface improvements to facilitate cycling. This road is planned as part of Nova Scotia’s Blue Route cycling network and once this work is done it can be opened as a cycling route. • Section 2: Ferry Road from Trunk 6 to 300m south of Gulf Shore Road Various Sections - approximately 6.9km of surface and road improvements to facilitate cycling. This road is planned as part of Nova Scotia’s Blue Route cycling network, and once this work is done it an be opened as a cycling route. • Section 3: Route 376 from Route 256 to Pictou Roundabout - approximately 4.8km of shoulder and surface improvements to facilitate cycling. This road is part of Nova Scotia’s Blue Route cycling network and needs some improvements to improve safety of cyclists.
