The facility produces batteries for the Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck and the E-Transit van. The $5.8 billion plant currently employs about 1,450 workers and could expand to 5,000 workers at full capacity. The project benefits from the U.S. Department of Energy's $9.3 billion loan awarded in December 2024 to build three battery plants, including two in Kentucky and one in Tennessee. |
