It is designed to provide power to an unnamed specific local customer and serve as an important new link in the region's electricity transmission network. The project aims to meet rising electricity needs and decarbonization goals in the West and the U.S. The line is expected to go into service in late 2027 and will cost between $1.5 billion and $1.7 billion. PacifiCorp owns 55% of the line, with Idaho Power holding the remaining interest and overseeing construction. |
