Description | The Bobwhite Energy Storage Project is a new battery storage system to be located beside the Phipps Bend Nuclear Power Plant in the Phipps Bend Industrial Park, Hawkins County. It is a partnership between the Tennessee Valley Authority and Tenaska, involving a 20-year agreement and an investment of $300 million. The system will produce 225 megawatts over four hours during peak times and is expected to have no environmental impact. Construction is expected to start in 2027 with the system going online in 2029. |
