Main objective: To improve the response of child protection bodies in Bulgaria in cases of domestic violence where children are involved as victims or witnesses. Specific objectives: - Introducing a child-centered approach at all stages of child protection and support - Improving the cooperation of the relevant child protection authorities via mutual learning - Improving the capacity to recognize, detect and address the domestic violence - Further developing and strengthening 3 child advocacy centers Zona ZaKrila in Bulgaria and model dissemination in the country Activities: - State response - Mutual learning - Capacity building - Outreach and communication Type and number of persons benefiting directly and indirectly from the project: Practitioners and first contact points in the police and child protection units who work directly with children victims / witnesses of domestic violence; 1095 Staff of centers Zona ZaKrila - 15 Social service providers - 50 Children victims/witnesses of domestic violence directly – 10, indirectly 440 Expected results: Improved child-centered response to child victims/witnesses of domestic violence through strengthened capacity and coordination between police and child protection professionals Increased child protection systems specialist support for child victims/witnesses of domestic violence using a child-centered approach Improved specialized services to address better the needs of children victims/witnesses of domestic violence Type and number of deliverables to be produced: Working method on child-centered approaches at all stages of child protection and support Training programme on identification, recognition and work in cases of domestic violence where children are involved Systematized, described and distributedmulti-disciplinary and interagency model Zona ZaKrila 39 trainings Child panel formed 3 sharing seminars 2 ToT 1 ToT on trauma coping – 15 trainees 1 sensitizing seminar with journalist 4 press-conferences Final conference
