Description
Description | Bodrum Airport was a concession project involving the design, building and management of the Bodrum-Milas’ international terminal, located 36kms northeast of the town of Bodrum, and 16kms south of Milas, on the touristic south-western coast of Turkey. The total surface area of the new terminal was planned to be 100,000 m2. In 2007, General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI) announced a tender for the establishment and management of the new international Terminal of Bodrum Airport to private companies. Bodrum Airport tender was previously held in August 2006 but cancelled by the Ministry of Transport. Thus, the tender has been repeated in 2007 because of the Ministry's concerns about the realization of the Terminal. Mondial acquired the concession of the Terminal. On April 29th 2011, Italian construction group Astaldi has acquired 92.85% stake in Mondial, the company that holds the concession of the international terminal. The total project cost for the terminal was estimated to be $148.4 million and was funded through a project financing. Concession revenues from the management of the new terminal was to be approximately $310 million, with average annual revenues of $50 million. 65% of this amount was to be guaranteed by both a minimum amount of passenger traffic set at 1,000,000 per year and by an availability agreement, which was being formalized, for the duty free areas. The project’s construction has already started with Astaldi acting as an EPC contractor and its completion was expected to 2011. |
