Description

Description

The project entails the waste cleaning and collection contract for the city of Bogota, Colombia. Sponsors are Sacyr’s affiliate Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales (51%) and Mexican company Sinergias Ecológicas (49%). The awarded contract has a duration of eight years, with an estimated total amount close to $198 million. The area awarded to Valoriza is Special Service Area No. 5, which includes the town of Suba, north of the capital of Colombia, and which will serve an estimated population of around 1.5 million inhabitants. It includes the collection of unusable waste, sweeping, cleaning of roads and public areas, cutting of grass, pruning of trees in public areas, washing of public areas and transportation of the waste generated by the previous activities to the final disposal sites. Santander provided $32.2 million debt financing, which is backed by payments for collection of waste made by a Bogotá government unit called Unidad Administrativa Especial de Servicios Públicos (UAESP). Proceeds from the loan will go to buy a garbage truck fleet, to build the headquarters building of the SPV and initial payments associated with contractual rights. https://ijglobal.com/data/transaction/44720/area-limpia-waste-management-ppp https://www.inframationgroup.com/latin-america-sacyr-closes-loan-fund-bogot%C3%A1%C2%A0waste-management-project%C2%A0 https://www.highways.today/2018/01/26/sacyr-wins-waste-cleaning-collection-contract-bogota/
