Description

The project involves the design, construction and operations of 54 MW Boguslav solar power project in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. The project is realised under the country’s 10-year Feed-in-Tariff scheme and is expected to deliver about 61 GWh per year, provide clean energy for up to 27,000 households and contribute to avoid about 36,600 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. The sponsor is Scatec Solar ASA and is in the process of attracting additional equity partners. The SPV is called Boguslavenergy LLC. The total project cost is EUR 54 million or $ 60.6 million. The Dutch development bank FMO acted as Mandated Lead Arranger. FMO provided EUR 14.36 million or $ 16.1 million of own financing, The Green for Growth Fund, Southeast Europe S.A., SICAV-SIF took a participation under FMO’s B Facility with an total of EUR 9 million or $10.1 million and Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency GIEK provided an unfunded credit guarantee of EUR 14.3 million or $ 16.1 million to FMO. The credit facilities amount to EUR 37.8 million or $ 42.4 million and covers up to 70% of the total project costs. Financial close was announced on 8 July 2019 with construction already started.
